  • First game: 9am Saturday 31st August (TBC)
  • Last game end: 5pm Saturday 31st August (TBC)
  • This tournament is the final event of Scottish Ultimate’s club league, Tartan Tour but is also open to all as a standalone tournament.
  • Team fee: £160
  • Pick up player fee: £15
  • Payment details will be sent out with team confirmation emails.
  • We will have access to the Sports Pavilion during our pitch bookings and at least 30 mins before and after. This building is a short walk from the pitches.
  • All toilets, changing rooms, showers and drinking water are located in the pavillion.
  • The Airthrey pitches themselves are an open area with little shelter.
  • We will aim to have some capacity to refill drinking water at the TD station but the majority will need to use the pavillion.

  • There are numerous cafes and pubs within easy walking distance of the venue in nearby Bridge of Allan, as well as a Co-op supermarket (c. 20 min walk / 3 min drive).

Stirling University have a great section on their website detailing how to get to their campus: https://www.stir.ac.uk/about/getting-here/

By public transport

  • The nearest train stations are Stirling (1 hour walk to pitches) and Bridge of Allan (~40min walk).
  • Both have direct train links to Glasgow (c.30 mins, c.£11 return) and Edinburgh (c.1 hour, c.£12 return).
  • Buy tickets in the station or buy them on the ScotRail website or Trainline app.
  • Some journeys require you to change in Stirling to reach Bridge of Allan.
  • From Stirling, the 52 bus takes you to the back entrance of the university. It runs every 30 mins.
  • Alternatively, the UniLink bus takes you from Stirling to campus. It runs every 20 mins.
  • Buses are less frequent from Bridge of Allan. The 54 bus takes you to the university. It runs once an hour.
  • Day passes on these buses cost about £6.
  • Single tickets will vary depending on the exact journey. Many buses have contactless payment but will probably also take cash.
  • The pitches are 15/20 minute walk from any bus stops on campus.

By car

  • From the Stirling University website:
  • “From the East, South or West, take the M9 to Junction 11. At the junction, there is a roundabout which marks the end of the M9. From here you should take the exit for Bridge of Allan, follow the road through the town itself, and after about 200 metres you will find the University entrance on the left.
  • From the North take the A9 to the same roundabout and follow the same route through Bridge of Allan as above.”
  • The nearest location to the pitches on Google Maps is Airthrey Castle. Continue past the castle for a minute or so and the pavilion will be on your right.

Parking

  • There is parking available next to the Sports Pavilion. Feel free to park in any of the other available designated car parks nearby (see above for campus map).
  • There is no charge for parking on campus at weekends.

By air

  • The nearest airports are Edinburgh and Glasgow.
  • There are very straight-forward public transport links to Stirling and Bridge of Allan from both.
  • Edinburgh Airport: the 909 bus takes you straight from the airport to Stirling in about an hour. Or stay on for 10 more mins to reach Bridge of Allan.
  • Glasgow Airport: the 500 Airport Express takes you into the centre of Glasgow, then there is a direct train through to Stirling or Bridge of Allan.
